Coping with COVID-19

Coping with COVID-19

                                                                    By: Petrina Daley

Coronavirus slowly took over the world and sorry to say until this day it has never left and university students are left with questions such as, “ Will I finish my degree?”.
This can be mentally challenging. People are scared even to cough, sneeze or breathe. Every establishment is closing. This virus forces people to stay away from groups, and you’re being forced to stay home, and school is officially closed. Here are some ways to maintain stable mental health during the coronavirus pandemic.
  • Keep motivated- Tell yourselves that this is just a bump in your road to success, but you have to achieve your goals. Remember all that you want to accomplish, set your goals and work hard towards them.
  • Follow up with the NEWS- Keep up to date with the NEWS.
  • Sanitize, Sanitize, sanitize!- Remember to keep yourselves and your environment sanitized and clean.
  • Obey the laws governing the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.
  • Remember to attend classes- Attend your online classes on time, take notes and everything will be fine.
  •  Study Time- No, it’s not a world-wide holiday season, school is still in secession so remember to study for your classes and examinations.
  • Remember to complete assignments on time.
  • Spend time with your family- This is important so take some time to accommodate family time and bonding activities such as playing games or watching movies while you’re feeling trapped inside. Time flies when you’re having fun!
  • Maintain a healthy and balanced diet-Remember to stock up on your vitamins.
  • Keep in contact with your friends and family members- Keeping in contact with them to ensure that they are doing great is a great gesture.
  • Exercise- Maintaining a good figure is important because we tend to eat more while we are at home. Don’t go binge eating now!
  • Stay prayed up- Take time to pray and read your Bibles. Stay close to God during this time, he wouldn’t mind!
  • Discover new talents and interests- Take this time to find new interests and talents, work on something that you love or even create a blog or a YouTube channel love!
All of this will be over one day. I know that you’re maybe feeling trapped in your homes with nowhere to go and not a lot of activities to do. It may seem like the world is ending but according to Mathew 24:36, “But concerning that day and hour, no one knows, not even the angels of the heavens, nor the Son, except the Father only.” So, stop worrying. This too shall pass, why worry when you can pray.
