Someone once said that it’s a cold world when you’re out there alone, I can imagine trying to

face mental health issues on your own. You’re not in this by yourself, you don’t have to go through this trying time alone. Everyone seems to be busy trying to earn a suitable living because many a mickle makes a muckle but there is someone willing to listen to you, honey. There are numerous amounts of help out there for you. Here are a few ways to receive help if you are battling with mental health challenges and as we know giving is better than receiving according to Acts 20:35, so here are some ways to render assistance to someone also.

Don’t allow someone you know or yourself to suffer in silence. If everyone takes a stand to fight mental health challenges and each one tries to help one, then maybe it will cause a chain reaction. Here are a few steps that will help you or someone to become the best version of themselves.

IF YOU FIND YOURSELF FACING MENTAL HEALTH CHALLENGES HERE ARE SOME TIPS FOR YOU

1)      Talk to God about how you’re feeling, there isn’t a specific tutorial to do this. Just describe how you’re feeling and ask for help.

2)      Write about your situation. A journal is a great way to document how you’re feeling, just letting it all out will assist and even be wonderful to read after recovery to realize the steps that you have taken forward.

3)      Speak to your school counselor. They have a standard of confidentiality, so you don’t have to worry about anyone hearing anything about you from them. Remember that you’ve paid for it in your tuition so make use of it.

4)      Contact the Ministry of Health and Wellness or visit an institution that offers help.

5)       Find someone who is confidential to speak about how you’re feeling.

6)      Try partaking in activities that are able to make you feel better.

7)      Surround yourself with good people.

8)      Taking care of your physical health may assist with fixing your mental health.

9)      Try to maintain a  healthy diet, those vitamins and minerals will help you.

10)  Whenever you find out that you’ve made progress, award yourself.

                                     WAYS TO HELP SOMEONE

1.  Find a place and time without distractions.

2.  Ask about their wellbeing.

3.  Try to start off with open-ended questions.

4.  Maintain being attentive and listen to everything that they say.

5.  Validate what they are saying.

6.  Try not to force them into saying more than they want to and also if they are willing to share a lot of information don’t behave tired or too busy to listen.

7.  Don’t just listen, ask how you can be of assistance.

8.  Understand their limitations, if they’re feeling depressed there are certain activities that they won’t partake in.

  2. Mental health is really important and often times people are quick to judge instead of offering a helping hand. Great tips as usual and I find your articles so easy to read.
