The truth about peace-of-mind and college life

By: Jason Grant

Peace does not come easily or by chance but when it does it allows you to find balance in your life. The minute you apply for a college that’s where it all begins, you become anxious about your new path for the next four years and where it will take you. In fact, you may have high expectations before you even get there. Until you are finally there, three assignments behind and two sectional to do in one day. What do you do then? You master your emotions, you develop strategies that will help you to be more responsible in getting things at the right time.

As humans we find peace when things work in harmony, a smooth flow is always the desire of our hearts. The reality is, that it is not always possible for you to have everything in place. There will always be ups and downs, but the way you react to the situation will tell how great of an impact it will have on you.

Finding perfect balance in the semester will bring you absolute peace in your college life.
The bible tells us in Philippians 4 verse 6-7 ``Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication let your request be made known to God, and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus”. Perfect peace comes from our lord and savior, submitting our request to him with faith knowing that he is able to fill our request.

Peace of mind is attainable while studying but it requires you to have faith and practice self-discipline. Discipline keeps you on track when things look out of place, create a schedule for yourself and abide by the deadlines, things will work harmoniously with discipline.

  1. Profound article. In anything we do we have to learn to master our emotions in order to do what needs to be done or else we'll suffer the consequences and in this instant, if we fail to master our emotions and prioritize to get our assignments and course work done, then thats a fail for the semester which we don't want.
Was worth the read... and in this season of our life as university students, it's important to ensure that we prioritize our assignments seeing that we're mostly home and are exposed to many distractions.
